Crock Pot Committees
A small group or individual(s) who will come to the house, and put together a soup, stew or chili, or other crock-pot friendly meal to be self-served as guests arrive back "home" after their day at the hospital. Committees or individuals would speak for the same day(s) each month and be responsible for preparing the crock pot (furnished by the House) so that food is ready to eat starting at 7 p.m. that evening.
Groups of individuals who can supply small quantities of canned goods, dry goods or cleaning supplies for general House maintenance. See our list of suggested donation items that are needed.
IIn the event that we have guests in the House for Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, Fourth of July or other special holidays, our Holiday Planners will organize a meal/snack or other special holiday recognition for all registered guests, and their families, who wish to participate. Party Planners should be flexible and have a healthy, happy disposition just waiting to be shared with those who could use a shot of good holiday cheer!
Care Package Organizers
Small groups, individuals, or groups of individuals, working to create “surprise” packages to leave inside the guest rooms. Some Houses, in other parts of the country, use hand-decorated bags and fill with inexpensive items …such as peppermints or small candy bars, packaged snacks, gum, decks of cards, cheerful greeting cards, crossword puzzle books or items of this nature.
Green Thumb Club
The Hospitality House is looking for a garden club or other groups with botany-related interests who can see to the annual planting needs around the fountain and in various pots in our outdoor courtyard area in the spring, summer and fall. These volunteers would help purchase, place, plant, prune and water annuals, and otherwise help with the upkeep of this beautiful little space.
Periodical Producers / Coupon Clippers
The Hospitality House would appreciate your gift of gently-used current magazines as well as coupons that might be of value to guests. Periodical producers will gather, distribute and rotate magazines that are made available for guest use in the public areas of the House, as well as guest rooms. Coupon Clippers will cut out and organize coupons that will be made available for those guests who might be staying long term at the House and wish to eat at local restaurants or purchase grocery supplies for use during their stay. Coupon clippers will also be responsible for removing coupons that are out-of-date or unusable.
